Well that is strange, they must do them all in parallel or something, or maybe they have a very problematic engine/buggy coding that makes the animations hard. I can imagine the first time you make a cockpit it could take months, its a skillset - but once you do it a few times thing become drastically more efficient. Here is an example - my first modeling task ever was to make a haunted house, had about 6 hours a week and it took 2-3+ weeks to do the house and the surrounding terrain. SO lets say 24 hours, I went back the next year and assisted in helping others with the same/task and I could complete the house with about 2-3 hours of concenctrated work aslong as there were no bugs/geometry problems. The same thing applied with texturing models (learning to use photoshop and folding geometry which is a nightmare, but doesnt apply here luckily) and complex animation.

So maybe it was 6 months from start to finish but not just working on the cockpit? So everything from research to animation/interaction (know nothing about interaction because its unique for each engine I believe) and finished sound while working on other projects as well?

The P-40 is an old favourite of mine (guess my sig gives that away)as my Grandad used to groundcrew for them in the pacific in WW2.
When did the Russians start using these.....and do you think we'll see them in the Russian add-on....or did they use them later than the period that you think the add-on will be for?

Alot of planes that are in the il 2 sturmovik 1946 are NOT in this game.. I miss all the good old bombers and fighters.. And WHY cant they make all plane flyable ? That is one big WHY..
WHY - you have been answered that.

WILL YOU GET MORE PLANES - yes, I`m positive about this. We may get a few for free in the next few months, but after that will probably come an expansion with MANY new flyables and AI planes. That is because it is called the Moscow addon which means we`ll have to implement at least 4 flyable Russian fighters, maybe two Russian bombers and maybe 2-3 German planes of different type.

It also depends on which side you fly. If you fly Allies, you may never get your favorite fighter. Why? Because there is so many of them. Look at the Axis side - Bf109, FW190, Ju87, J88, He11 being the main planes with different variants and some Romanian and Italian planes and that`s that. It`s almost guaranteed you will be more of a satisfied man flying German.

Dont really agree..of course your have a fav ride doesnt matter what side you fly..you want to spend all your hours flying one AC thats up to you, personally i like to fly both sides, you appreciated each AC that way too

190,P-51 & certain variants of the 109 would be very nice indeed..

Spit yes.... but Spits a Spit, it would just get better guns and a bit more HP

Talking more planes...? Leave out the Italians !

... Instead of incorporating the Italians and their planes, they should have extended this sim as a, "WW2 western front sim... whatever name you want to give it", at least to a point in history where the F-models of the BF109 were available and also better Spitfire variants.

Italians dont deserve to be in such a sim.
When France was beaten in 1940, Mussolini thought he might as well get a piece of the cake and like a hyena going on a dead body, he tried to attack France as well.
But the Italians got such a hit from the already beaten french army, that they had to retreat. Actually they were not successful on any theatre of WW2. Sorry, I dont want to insult any Italian of today but that is a fact of history!

I dont need italian planes in Cliffs of Dover, only maybe as AI-planes.
I`d have prefered an extended western front flightsim, not only covering the short period of the Battle of Britain in summer 1940.

Well, when I first read that this sim will be released again by Ubisoft, I already knew that trouble was on the way and I was right!

Hopefully the sim will improve in the years to come,....
