I wouldn't worry about these things too much. Nowadays, certain measures are in place (as an above poster said, no cracks seem to work right now... bold move to admit such an attempt in the official forums, btw) and, while UBI is pretty much aware of nothing, this is certainly the exception. They are taking care of it - as all other software companies take care of piracy issues concerning their own software.

That doesn't bother me too much as a legitimate player.

It amazes me that people can spend hundreds/thousands of pounds for a new rig but can't fork out £30 for a game to play on it.

S!

Exactly Meusli. Many of the piewats have rigs in range of well above average yet they can not afford to buy a game. And you can waste that money easy in a pub for example, but Cliffs Of Dover just keps getting better

Ummm... welcome to reality ? Don't worry though, as long as there is good multiplayer - the game will sell.

I by no means condone making dodgy copies and ripping people off, but it happens.

As CoD is covered by steam, I'd expect the torrent's will be the non-patched versions, not sure if they'll press newer versions, probably not. With that, the version will be of course out of date and shan't have the new content.

A lot of people that pirate a game will also be trying it out and if like it, buy it.

Maybe it's a cunning plan to release games that don't work very well to start with. :p

I actually pirated the game at first, I was worried that my old computer wouldnt handle it due to all the reports of bad performance.
But when the developers showed that they were very eager to fix the game, i decided to buy it to give them my support.
I will probably get banned for this post, but that is the price of honesty.

Pirates should be hung, drawn and quartered.
No exceptions.

Multiplayer is where the devs should be concentrating on protection since that is where the long-term players will be. Make it frustrating enough for pirates to get on the servers (if possible) and many of them will buy it when it's cheap enough.

I am very glad that solidshield has been removed, though. This would have become a very annoying thorn in the side of this forum as people began to get locked out their game.

I haven't watched any of them. I don't even have the game yet. But it's annoying that people are pirating this game so freely, when we know how much work is being put into it. It's also annoying that i search for new CloD videos to enjoy, and all i get in results are these videos made by dickheads.

There must be something that can be done to these people?

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
