Xilon raises another interesting point about the G.50. I know the original G.50that shipped with Forgotten Battles all those years ago would have no need of a sand filter as shown on the pics above. With 4.10, I understand that DT will be correcting the propellor spinner for Italian G.50s to the rounded one seen in the pictures from North Africa while leaving the pointed Finnish spinner as is. Perhaps in 4.11 they could add the sand filter and corrected venturi position in a similar manner.

Cheers,

Why the earlier G.50 had closed cockpit and later ones didn´t?
And,is there any plans of TD for adding other versions of the G.50?
The G.50 bis looks different than the one we have in IL2.

The Italians didn't like the closed canopy and thought it was restrictive and dangerous. The Mc.200 also had a closed canopy in its initial form. You can also see why "thoroughbreds" (they had a great racing lineage like the Spitfire) like the Mc.200 and G.50 have that horrible hump, spoiling the lines and aerodynamics in order to give pilots the visibility they wanted.

The closed cockpit of the first series of the G.50 and Mc.200 had a technical defect, which prevented its opening above a certain speed. Obviously this defect can be deadly in case of plane failure. That's why both Fiat and Macchi preferred to remove it before an adequate technical solution was found. This decision penalized the aerodynamics but solved the visibility issues caused by the low quality plexiglass.
Moreover, the open cockpit allowed an easier escape in case of take-off or landing accidents, which plagued the early G.50's causing several casualties.

And no, Italian pilots didn't jump quicker than their counterparts ...

G’day

Not wishing to appear rude or anything, but this thread should be about Dev’ updates for 4.10 (which is now being bug checked for release) so should not these correction requests be posted in the “Daidalos Team's Room -QUESTIONS AND REQUESTS ONLY on IL2 Authorized Addons” thread - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=8815 for consideration in future patch development, I mean that where I posted my requests as I thought that was the correct thing to do!

That doesn't mean i can't express a disagreement though, i can just be a bit smooth about it and this also gives my ideas a better reception because the other guy won't get defensive.
However, if my command of the languge is insufficient to do that, i might come off as aggressive and insulting when i express a disagreement and people will jump on me

I'm not trying to be back-seat moderator here, i'm just trying to pacify things a bit because a lot of times we get valuable debates devolving into point-scoring matches between people. It's a shame when it happens, as most of the community is knowledgable and they have lots of good information to exhange, so if i can do anything to encourage increasing the signal-to-noise ratio without ruffling people's feathers i try and do something to that effect. Hope this is clear enough and not grounds for a misunderstanding, as the furthest thing from my intentions is to start arguments and troll people. Cheers
I actually meant what I said, Mate. I wasn't living up to my own standards, I appreciate being called out. Keeps me honest.
