As always you want to take my statements as a personal attack on your person. You should read my statement instead of boiling up just because I replied to a thread you are participating in.

Because you know as well as we do, that he wouldn't tell you about the patch and the updated dlls, because he simply doesn't know, at least not for sure or he simply doesn't want to tell you or he isn't in the position to do so.


So, the one thing in my statement that really CAN be regarded as a critics:

you should also realize that what the Marketing Manager UK, specialized on consoles (esp. x-box and ps-products), told you is not even an indication of what he knows about an unannounced title, what he wants to tell you about an unannounced title and what he is allowed to tell you about an unannounced title.
Not even mentioning the fact that a developer in Russia probably does not make his development-negotiations with the regional office in the UK.

I suggest both of you get over to SimHQ and check out the teams report on E3.
Look at the set-up they have in their hotel room and ask yourself this...
If SOW was cancelled those bunch of uber nerds would have spilled the beans a long time ago...
Read their qoute about asking a Ubisoft official about what they will get to see regarding new games and you will understand why no-one takes a work ubisoft sprouts seriously.

Okay back on topic. The game will not come out this year and it is in a niche market so it is unlikely to be advertised using big Ubi bucks just yet.
What the herd of nerds at simhq do say is they will be giving feedback on two flight sims from E3.
My guess is the one is ROF and the other is most likely the add-on for Black Shark (A110C) but may just be SOW

Bobb, no one is suggesting that SOW is canceled, Ubi UK are saying that they have no involement with it anymore and haven't for some time. Anyhow i have had a phone call from Phil Brannelly at Ubisoft this morning, I have asked him many questions some of which he has answered, he said he will get back to me later today to give me a definitive list of events.

Oleg confirmed it's not canceled. The original question was, if UBI announced SoW as one of the upcoming titles as they did with other games that are planned to be released until december 09.


The fact they didn't, says little to nothing about SoW or UBI in any regard, pro or con, as well as O'Reilly reported statements didn't say anything really, other than his personal statement that to his knowledge UBI is no longer involved. Infact it's not even a surprise, considering most of us expect a release long after december 09.

As before, I stick with what Oleg posted here and on SimHQ:
Ingame shots and scenes will be shown when he decides to show them.
The game will be announced when it is ready to be announced.
The game will be released when it is ready to be released.
The game started development under contract with UBI.

If it's UBI, EA or Santa himself who will publish this game in the West, is pretty much irrelevant to me and considering marketing and legal procedures, I bet just Oleg and a few guys at the publishers know about whos and whens.

And even if you'd get to speak to the right person, why should somebody say something so far kept secret, just because somebody makes a call?

Well, we'll see if any news will be released with this next call, but to be honest I don't give a damn until it's official and we'll see some producers label on the website or packshot.

Ok, just had another phone call from Phil Brannelly he has confirmed what most of us already knew, Ubisoft are no longer involved with SOW period, Phil said that he has asked questions has to who is the new publisher and he has been told that it is 505, who are also publishing BOP. He also asked me to please post this in appropriate forums so people do not pre-order products advertised has having a link to Ubi. He also said he will look into Ubisoft making an official statement dissociating themselves with Maddox games on this title. If you wish to speak to Phil direct you can on this number 01932578000 press 0 for reception and then ask for Phil Brannelly, he is a very helpful guy and will answer all your questions. He didn't have great things to say about Oleg but that's another story.
