Hi,
This thread proves its possible, so how does one , having got external to an aircraft, move about it to get different views, and maybe also zoom back and forth ?
have failed to find mention of this in any forums , or on google etc.

No answers to forum posts on it, but it is possible, just a great mystery at the moment.
Never failed in sims in the past, maddox have buried this one deep it seems.

I expect to move mouse and pan around it. maybe + and - are zoom,

maybe one disables mouse from some other function first ?

I have TrackIr so if thats running, do I temporarily disable that and how ?

I want mouse control over my stills captures.

anyone help ?????

F10 changes the function of the mouse and with that ive been able to pan and move around.

Maybe the guys who make some of the fantastic movies have other secrets but that's what ive used to zoom and change the view.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mavers92,
Thanks for reply,
well that gets me somewhere, at least I can look down or up at my aircraft now.
F8 to go outside aircraft,
Then F10 and I have some functionality.

Just moving mouse takes my camera anywhere on an invisible circle track up over the top of the aircraft or around and underneath looking up at it, and no doubt it goes beyond to nose, that circle is on the aircrafts centreline, with its centre at aircraft centre. It is a vertical circle.

I now need a horizontal one to move around side of aircraft.

Now to try for moving around its side...

right mouse button down and move mouse, that gets me closer or further away, so thats the zoom.

lets try Left mouse button, , that rotates the aircraft about a point many miles away in front of it, out on its flight path. (and not me around it) and its gone off edge of screen.
Move mouse down and aircraft goes off screen at top, or maybe bottom, typing this after turning sim off.
Now thats an odd one, not much use, as it ends up off screen very quickly.

How does one move around the side of the aircraft ?

I don't know about F10, I don't remember whether I tried that, what works for me is the centre mouse button, the scroll-wheel. If you hold that down, the rest of it is then the same as in "1946" but holding down the scroll wheel without scrolling the wheel is tricky.

Anyhow, good luck, maybe that F10 is the thing to do? maybe you'll find something else and tell us?

BOBC: You should be able to switch to outside view by F2. But ths has to be allowed by the realism settings...

I do use F2 then press F10 to get the views to change. F8 is the chase view im sure. I've never really used the padlock views so not sure if these help.

Outside views...
You need a mouse with a middle button.

In outside view (F2):

PAN around aircraft (aircraft centred) = Mouse middle + move mouse around

ZOOM = mouse middle + right mouse button and move mouse forward and back to zoom

PAN to side (offset pan, aircraft un-centred) = Mouse middle + mouse left and move mouse around

Cheers, Setback

Default Night or Nacht!

Interesting images. I've not fully explored the night time potential yet.

Anyway, here's a few examples from 00.45 hours.

Merry Christmas and a Happy Neu Jahr
