I have a question about custom sound files. I have now migrated IL-2 to a new computer running WIN 8.1. Previously, I was running WIN XP for many years.
When I open the 'my_samples' folder, the entries are .wav files. I can click on them and they will play using Windows Media Player. When I open the 'my_presets' folder, the entries are .prs files. When I click on them they will not open (play). I get a message asking me what program I want to use to open .prs files. The only option that will play audio files is Windows Media Player. However, when I choose this option, I get a message that Windows Media Player cannot play .prs files. How do you guys open .prs files so you can sample the sounds? Aviar

They are script files specifying how the game engine should replay wav files. Use a text editor.
