My game won't start!!!

I have essentially the same start up issues. After research I have concluded the Nvidia GeForce 8000 series may not support the 2.0 shaders requirement mentioned in the game manual.

I contacted Nvidia and the only suggestion they offered was to download a new beta version of an updated driver. My laptop manufacturer (Sony) advised not to do because of other potential complications. I have a GeForce 8400M GS notebook video driver.

Thus, I made the decision to install on my slower desktop that uses a Radeon (ATI) 9800 pro video card. All works perfect. However, if anyone finds out a fix for my laptop, please post.
