I've been running Kings Bounty on my XP 64bit since it was released and havent experienced a crash yet. Whats your hardware? What version of video card driver you using? Do you happen to have the C++ Redistributables installed?

I'm using x64 sp2 and no problems, except some slowdown after a lot of playing, but an alt-tab solves this problem.
My config: Asus m2n-e (nforce 570ultra), amd Athlon x2, ati radeon hd3870, 2gb ddr2. |

Count me down as another XP 64 user experiencing this issue. Windows components & drivers are all up to date.
I can play for anywhere from under a minute (crashing as soon as the menu screen comes up), to half an hour (I once reached the adventure map outside the training area). Most often of the times I've tried to play, the crash will occur in either the first or second training room. The behavior of the crash is exactly like that described by others in the thread. I get a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error, with no significant details, and have been submitting the error reports (in the hopes that they will make their way to 1C). Dxdiag dump follows. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/15/2008, 08:32:42 Operating System: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (5.2, Build 3790) Service Pack 2 (3790.srv03_sp2_qfe.080813-1204) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Xeon processor (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 4094MB RAM Page File: 1874MB used, 4016MB available Windows Dir: E:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.3790.3959 64bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_23711682&REV_A2 Display Memory: 512.0 MB Current Mode: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200 Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0011.7813 (English) DDI Version: 9 (or higher) Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 9/17/2008 09:55:00, 8762624 bytes WHQL Logo'd: Yes Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_23711682&REV_A2 Display Memory: 512.0 MB Current Mode: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200 Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0011.7813 (English) DDI Version: 9 (or higher) Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 9/17/2008 09:55:00, 8762624 bytes WHQL Logo'd: Yes |
