That just moves the view from center to gunsight view.

I do forget what does that but my config does not have a line for WideScreenFoV so perhaps set that to 0 and see what happens?

Look for this in your conf.ini

[window]
width=1920
height=1200
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0

Height and width should be set to your monitor's resolution.
Enable resize and save aspect should be set to zero.

This should work for you.
Good luck.

If the plane is looking stretched somehow, than I suppose, this is not the correct resolution. You said, its the monitors native one, but I tend to doubt that. Try other 16:10 resolutions like 1920:1200. Or better a 16:9 one (1920:1080).
