A standard skirmish mode wouldn't really make sense for the game.
The game plays like a standard Final Fantasy game, you control your guy, you explore the world, fight, and level up. Main twist is that it's using the HoMM/KB gameplay.
An important part of the gameplay is to build up your character throughout the entire game and go through the story.
Skirmish works for HoMM because the game is played in matches.
I wouldn't mind seeing some great modes that increase replay value though. Like challenges or an endless dungeon after beating the game.
