Well, the update was good. The planes are awsome but the most interesting part is that he says that they are nearly finished, and that there is an Alpha.

I agree that the Stuka is marvelous. It's almost too good That especially goes with the ground vehicles. They are good enough for a high fidelity tank sim. When we strafe them in 500 km/h, we will only see the LOD 5 models so it's actually pearls before swine... I would rather have more low detail ground objects than a few of these in this extreme detail. Unless Oleg is thinking of letting us drive tanks in the future

It was already stated that you can man FlaKs and that it is at least an option to control other groundunits later on. Considering what was said about the detailed damage-model for the ground-vehicles, I guess SoW is laying the basis for such possibilities. Considering how many Operation Flashpoint, Battlefield and JointOps players are out there, not a bad option IMHO. Doesn't mean it will come, but if it remains an option, that's only better for us

Besides that, Oleg promised photorealism and he's getting pretty close. Imagine what such an engine could do for other media like documentaries or even movies!

Actually it was "a certain step" reached in the development of BoB.

That this would be the Alpha-status was non-official speculation.

If other aspects of this sim are as detailed as these models, I have no doubt this software could be used for CGI movies. Our hobby of trying to live out a WW2 Pilots experience will be as good as it gets on a computer screen. And much safer.
