1) Good point, it's hard to tell what their intention was, but the math would suggest it should be the second way, rather than the first.

2) It's a description problem, "sp_spell_demonologist" (which is on 2 items) affects a lot more spells than just the 3 the tooltip would suggest.

But who know about such important aspect? I have 2 living book and my phoenix kill 50-60% enemy in statistics! What is the second item you mentioned? Thanks.

Well, I suspect the developers knew, but yes, it'd be nice if the item was better described.

The second item is the "Blade of Pain", although it only gives a +10% bonus.
