You should have asked him how many copies of IL2-1946 were sold in the UK, that's his job, not making contracts with foreign game-companies, being in touch with a Russian developer or planning ad-campaigns.
To base any option on that and your friends statements is nonsense. Infact chances are you even talked to the same guys! With the same reasoning I could call my local bank and ask them about the best tactics against a B-17.

Whatever makes you feel better Feuerfalke, maybe you should try getting off your butt and making some phone calls yourself, this way you can get some hard facts instead of speculating. I did not speak to a salesman i spoke to ubisoft head office and have only repeated to this forum what i have been told. Your analogy about phoning your bank shows all here that you have very little concept of what is real, please enjoy your stay on planet earth but dont forget to leave.
