Default All SP missions airstart?

It looks like all the single player missions in the game only airstart, despite having the takeoff and landing box checked in realism options. Is this the case?
How do you set it up to be able to take off?

I think they are all airstarts - just designed for a quick blast. The single missions and campaigns can give you ground starts.

Both quick missions and single missions are all airstarts.
So there is no way to do a takeoff in any of the aircraft?
Only one training mission with the Hurricane is a cold start

Even the campaign starts you off on the ground but with the engine already running.
I was under the impression this game was a flight simulator?

Looks like Wings of Prey 2

No it's realistic, if the plane is on takeoff position. The groundcrew has started the engines before.
BTW if the mission designer set the park spawn flag, the engine is not running and must be started by the player and then he must taxi to the start position.

It is, but in a sandbox format just like ArmA.
This put you as a user in a situation where you need to put in a little more effort than the normal sim-game creating your experience from the mission editor.
Not an easy start for average Joe but very rewarding in the long run (well, atleast ArmA has been for me with years of mission scripting, this - we'll see what future brings).

I doubt very much you have actually tried them all to know that. Cross Country...

There is a difficulty (realism) setting that allows ground start. Just switch it ON.

You can use the Cross Country quick mission to test. It is ground start for sure.

I tried Cross Country and the plane starts on the ground with the engine running.
Not that this is so bad but why did the developer put all these clickable cockpit controls in the plane if there are no missions where you would actually use them?

Where is this setting? I only see Complex Engine Management and Engine temp Effects under Realism.
