Make sure you installed correctly- do not use winzip, use winrar or 7-zip.

You can also unblock files in properties iirc if you do wish to use winzip.

MadTommy I'm not using SLI i've got one card and cannot find (in my nvidia driver screen ) a choice to disable it.
I know where to find it so where it should be but it isnt there.

I don't really follow these two lines?

Are you using SLI? If so...

The RC patch simply does not work with SLI. So you have a choice, disable SLI and use the new patch or keep SLI and don't use the new patch.
So this was known already.
Strangely even after a complete unpatched re install the game will not start any more.

GraveYardJimmy Winrar was used.

Well it seems launcher .exe is invoked and then after a few seconds it is removed no crash dump whatsoever no messages that launcher.exe has stopped working nothing.
I think that was it then.
