If you unzipped the beta patch using Winzip, you will have launcher crashes if you didn't "Unblock" the data in the Winzip file. Atleast when using Windows 7.

I think he meant that there will be a final patch and then after that there will only be updates to CloD if you buy the sequel.

Currently do not know, why so many of you ask that question, although it is clearly stated?!?!?!

There will be a patch soon for Clod! As already said, the sequel will be handled the same way as in il2 sturmovik! Means that they are compatible! But clod will not be updated alone anymore. Just one final patch and afterwards just updates over the sequel!

Sorry, but I simply cannot understand, why this question is asked in 3 different threads today, after luthier stated roadmap!?!?!? Please just read before asking.

No definately not! No! Alot said that they would never put another cent into the series until it worked as advertised. Some said "once bitten, twice shy" or some such thing.

Others said that they were disillusioned with the whole development process and just wouldn't buy the sequal on principle! Others were just rude.

They couldn't just go out and buy the sequel? Could they? Then we'ld have to put up with the rest of the series life with them saying how they were blackmailed into buying updates!

Your statement sir, is rocking the faith I have in the integrity of my fellow man!

Well back on topic shall we?

It is good news this has been confirmed. Its the only way the series can have any hope of becoming stronger over time.

I just prey this patch leaves us with something that is good enough to keep the online community alive until the sequel can bring the series back from the dead.

Not sure its good news, but its not as bad as it could have been. I hope the patch at least stabilizes this thing and allows basic stuff like AA and the landscape no longer shimmers. The FM etc can wait until the sequel that I will not buy until far after the reviews are in...and only will buy if they are good reviews. If the patch leaves a mess in its wake the series is toast.

it has to be good news that the sequel will merge with Clod.. that way Clod will get upgraded and this great theatre can live on in our simulation.

Regrading what needs fixing I see it from the complete opposite.. its the FMs that are the key to making CloD fun.. AA and other visual things can wait, these are superficial to the 'gameplay'. Anyway, no point discussing really.. there are many many important things the patch should cover, everyone has their own priority.

So I have to buy a sequel I am not interested in, in order to get AA. That is a pathetic joke.

If you have an Nvidia card, customise the settings for launcher.exe. Enable FXAA and add 16x CSAA, with 'override application settings' and 'multisample' set.

No Jaggies.

There's probably some AMD/ATI equivalent available too.

Sorry for OT Uther.
