I haven't seen anything from the mods that even comes close to the Slovakia map. All I've seen from Map Mod screenshots are very sparcely populated areas with some interesting airbases.

One of the great things about IL2 over the years is that Oleg has had a policy of doing updates (including new planesets and maps) for free and only charging for major new versions.

At a time when you paid $50 US for one aircraft for the MS products, Il2 was getting free patches with half a dozen or more new planes.

It would seem that Oleg and his crew simply do not have the time to produce a new version up to the standard that Oleg requires for a "paid" add on.

nearmiss, Oleg said you will get the FMB Triggers in BoB And Beyond, which is what you always asked for...you got it, just not today. Until you get the Beyond theater you want most, you can try the more advanced working FMB+ from AAA modders.

Unless Oleg can make a profit from yet another this time for real "last" final FB update, BoB And Beyond and Luthier Korea (and beyond too???), even if delayed, is far more imporant.

Sorry, I haven't ever run anything using the Slovakia Map. Have you run anything using "the slot"?

I've read plenty of good things about the Slovakia Map, but I've been into the Pacific War for the past two years for the most part.

I haven't downloaded any of the Mod Maps, just checked out the screenshots. I hear people speak highly of the Slot map, but would imagine its an accurately laid out map with alot of jungle and a few airfields. I'm more interested in the Channel area maps, but it seems to me that there is alot of work to be done to flesh them out with too few people and not enough mapping tools. Even the existing builders are not interested in filling out the maps in order to save frame rates.

I'm interested in having the SOW series for the far more advanced maps, fm, dm, etc. There the modders will be given the proper tools to create more immersive additions on the SOW engine. Any more developer additions to the IL-2 series will be counter productive to combat flight simming.

I hope your SOW expectations are fulfilled along with mine. I think we're all hoping for a good success for Oleg and a great Combat flight sim for ourselves.

There is still alot of interest in Il2 as it is at AAA site and Hyperlobby.

i

I hope so too. As far as terrain goes I was expecting something like what we've seen in the BOP screenshots. The developers indicated SOW will be even better, and I have no reason to doubt it.
Yes there is alot of interest in the IL2 mod sites and people are very up on what they see the mods creating. Some posters even suggesting that Oleg will have trouble competing. They are fastly underestimating what we are going to see in the SOW series. I suggest it won't be long before these mod sites will become as busy as similiar EAW and CFS mod sites after the release of SOW.

Talking

Was IL-2 for console wath delay SOW, but im not upset with, this will call a new generation to the simulators, SOW is waiting a new "Challeger" (CFS 5), IL-2 still being the best, so why 1C start SOW now? 1C now is like "Rock Star", they are "Rich and famous" and dont want do nothing! LOL!

Why they cant sell to us a FM revision? This is a precious, only they can do.

I am wait so time SOW, i am forgeting SOW... only when CFS 5 win IL-2...
