Oh dear, does that mean it is going to be a subscription-only setup when released? I'm fine with an upfront purchase and paid DLC, but I would not go for some warcraft pay to play model.

Don't sell yourself short. I would suggest before you waste your money, go back to IL2 Sturmovik with mods and the Diadalos Teams mods. You may get a shock to your system. It's improved significantly. The war theatre possibilities are huge, awesome map additions, the aircraft selection is huge, the AI is improved, the sound is awesome, etc. The online game is still there as well.

The cost of producing an air combat flight sim genre of game is huge. COD is still in progress and there are some very dedicated people working on it. Look at the kinds of changes and improvements that keep coming at us. I mean the COD is extremely complicated application and it is only on one map.

If you have the money and time to spend trying things go for it. I did... that is why I have boxes full of air combat sim games that I haven't installed on my system in years... LOL

Gosh, that sounds bad when I say it... "I haven't installed on my system in years". The years part really gets me.

But is il2 1946 playable on Windows 7 64 ?? I tried but it would not install the patches.

Best Regards,

I recently intalled '46 and never had a problem. What error do you get? There are also some manual tweaks, but it runs beautifully

The game pretty sucks, just has some nice graphics and sound, I tried getting into it but all I could find are lame arcade one, tried doing a test flight on simulator and it's the same, it's many kind of system scores and kind of shit i don't like, pretty worthless game for me at least.
I DO NOT recommend anyone who's a truly flight sim fan like il-2 to waste your money on it, I'm glad I got the invite and see how lame it is.

It isnt a flight sim for sure, but then they aren't aiming for a flight sim. So I dont think its overrated, the dont claim anything more than the are giving. Besides, its F2P, you only spend what you want, if that is nothing at all then there you go... free game.
