Russia celebrates a Victory Day
Unbelievable you celebrate this...
Imagine I would beat a boy with at least 7 of my friends, and would celebrate this,...sorry in my eyes rediculus.
Have a look at the map and compare Germany at this times and Russia at this time, not mentioning the soldier count wich were 1/7 in the beginning and 1/20 since 1944....ashame ,ashame....
But well another artefact by Stalin I guess, although the win vs Napoleon was much more worth.

However for the people best wishes for the free times, no matter what reason the holiday was founded on.

If this is a Joke it is not very funny. 27 Millian Russian died in the war that was caused by Hitler and the Nazi regime. They are entitled to celebrate in any way that choose.

By far no joke.
It is celebrated by all kinds with military parades to present the power etc.
The victims are not regarded but the political leaders of each era past it.
It is called a celebration day not a day of mourning, what it actually should.
The war is the reason that people died, and Germany did the primary strike, no question.
Sending unarmed people into the line of fire by politruks made the victims that high it became.
The sad reason is actually not the war but the relationship from commuism politics attitudes to its own people, started already in early 30s.
However we dont celebrate our 27mil vicitms but our success. Which is so dedicated to the russian politics...

Napoleon won all Europe, Russian stopped it. Hitler won all Europe, Russian stopped it. Want to be the following loser? Welcome. The bloody political leaders (aka politrukS, lol), drunk bears with balalaikas, and also aliens from an Alpha-Centaury are applied. Especially annoying the ground in the size 1 meter on 2 (optionally) is allocated.
Throw out the TV and enable a brain.

Isn't it irrelevant how Russia celebrates its holidays? I mean for nowaday's Germany military parades come across as an anachronistic ritual from times long gone but to me Nephris' post seems a bit like a tempest in a glass of water.

Guys, seems you are discussing about different things

Nephris - people who fought and theyr families have all rights to celebrate. Another question is how politic leaders were fighting this war. Here I can put equation between communists and naci. And in this aspect I agree with you in all 100%
