One other thing. You can fly close to a bomber that is AI and jump into any position. Pilot gunner whatever you wish.

Same as a human piloted plane but you can't occupy a spot already occupied by a human of course.

But if you're watching / covering a bomber and it comes under attack when your really not in position to assist or a little out of range you can jump into that planes gunner - if not occupied - and have a go at the bandit.

But please ask the pilot. I love handling my own gunner myself and hate to try and switch and can't because someone is in it.

A gunner is a personal thing and it takes team effort between the pilot and gunner. I consider it an honor to gun for someone but I too need to know that we agree to the action we take when under attack.

You can't fire very well on someone that is turning their plane as well as the bandit turning. I prefer someone know what I will do when attacked to give them the best chance of success.

The goal as gunner isn't so much as to shoot down the bad guy. But give the pilot every reason to want YOU as his gunner and to give him the confidence knowing he has a good one there and all he needs is to concentrate on the mission. And of course to break when I say.
