I don't have any data but logic says that they will be extremely close in performance because they have almost identical specs. E3 1230 has 8MB L3 cache (vs. 6MB for i5 2500K) but 3.2 GHz (vs. 3.3 GHz for i5 2500K). I assume their performance will be within 3% of each other.

Nevertheless I have a recommendation. Take the i5 2500K because you can overclock it very easy via its multiplier...and it probably will overclock very good (somewhere around 4.5 GHz).
