Do you have an nVidia card? Go to nVidia control panel and temporarily change a PhysX device from auto-select or your video card to CPU (software), then start the game, load the save and complete this level (you can set PhysX setting back to video card after that). Looks like something in PhysX drivers changed since the game release, making this fluid uncomputable in hardware.
