Default Wouldn't it be awesome to have this integrated into COD???

I know I am daydreaming, but if they could integrate this into COD it would be "the perfect game".

Anyway I keep on dreaming that one day we will have it all the perfect flight sim combined with the perfect strategy game...

BOB2 had a similar feature, with a strategic map where you could act as RAF or Luftwaffe commander. I'm sure someone will post with a picture soon as I couldnt find one.

Guys the same day I purchased CLoD , just a few days ago, I also purchased Wings of Victory. Now both sim are installed, and have not really done much in the way of flight actually in either one yet - but my focus at this time is to get some controls mapped and start doing some flying with CLoD,

I have not been real impressed so far with Wings of Victory - granted I have not really done any flying it as of yet, but the menu interface seems clunky, and I had big problems just getting the correct resolution set for my monitor and the game would not crash when trying to load up a training mission. Setting the game resolution as my monitor's resolution did not work, I had to go in and manually pick the resolution, and even then - looking at 1920x1080x32, it offered like 5 differnent choices all saying the same thing - 1920x1080x32. Very confusing. Even after I got it successfully set, the 3d graphics still look kind of rough to me, it is supposed to be 1920x1080 but dang it almost looks lower resolution to me...
Then, regarding Track IR, finally figured out through trial and error, I had to go in and edit a file to actually turn Track IR on in the game ,no in game menu option for this, and now that it is working some axis seem to be reversed, ie my head leaning left results in the opposite reaction in the game, it leans right... but look left does equal look left - sigh.

I thought maybe I could get some quick and dirty simpler flying in with Wings of Victory as I prepared for the more complex CLoD, but got really frustrated with BOB2 just trying to get it set up to run properly. My main focus is now on CLoD, I am sure it will have some frustrating moments, but I certainly had no trouble so far with the menu interface, getting it to run at my monitor's resolution, and Track IR working properly...

Perhaps at a point later in time I might revisit launching Bob2, but for now I have a bad taste in my mouth regarding it.

Give BoB2 a chance, it's an amazing sim. And right now it beats CloD's offline experience IMO hands down. It might not be "state of the art" with regards to the grafics or damage models but the flight models are good, the AI one of the best of any flightsim and the whole game is packed with amazing details, thanks to the hard work of the guys who've been working on it for years. BoB2 surely has a couple of "rough edges" but it's one of those very rare examples of a labour of love.

And the BoB campaign alone is well worth buying it.

10-4, I will indeed give it another try before too long. It sounds like I would enjoy it being mainly an offline player and love a good campaign... maybe I just need to look beyond, and get around, the rough edges and more into the actual flying itself...
