Someone should pull down this thread. it is very missleading and no proof.

Roll back your drivers, Check you are using default settings, Turn IL2 COD to default graphics (normal settings not high).

Be very careful to understand the real reasons for your graphics going the way they are before you start blaming gaming software.

now go reset everything and do some tests.

No game breaks a gfx card. Some games do push the cards but all in all it comes down do keeping the computer cool both internal and environment. That means maintaining the computer by cleaning out dust in fans and other parts. I clean my computer every 3rd month and i have never experienced any overheating issue by doing so. Also, using a fan controller software like "MSI Afterburner" and set up a profile speeding up the fans at certain temps is important. Especially if you are gaming several hours straight. You can also set up hysteresis temps where an alarm goes off when high temps are reached.

There are a lot of ways to protect yourself against overheat. Just my 2 cents

As if it took a hammer to it. Honestly, you can't blame a game for breaking hardware. It may have been just bad timing that you were playing the game when your card died. Same happened to me whilst playing GTA 4.

Me GPU temp in game not up to 60º-65º... I turn off epilepsy filter... I Cleaned the PC the mounth in mounth... I have a profile NVIDIA ONLY to set fan at 100%.... and always fan in CloD is 100%... Me system is unestable and sometime cant work with him...

But.... Do you not think that Clod works already correctly? I think that this program is unestable and could damage your PC... more black Screen, and more unestable system... in PC med-low performance and Pc´s big performancie... All Pc´s this game is unestable... I played 200 - 300 hours at CloD, the game is very beautifful, but in combat sometimes is imposible play... more shooters, and more game launcher.exe outs...

Me setting in game was: Med-Lower settings...

I play now ROF... but I wish that 1C team launch a patch that solve all problem to game performance, I like more CloD, and I want play with him, but I have a panic to break me PC ...

Thaks guys for yours coments. See you all.

PD: Me Grapich card not OC, setting factory... Only OC CPU at 3,2Ghzs

Mate that looks like an overheat issue to me in which case you CAN damage your card but its not CoD that done it imo..

you said you've played 200-300hours with no problems? don't you think its a bit strange then that all of a sudden CoD decides to break it for you?

Games don't break hardware, and if it was maxing out your gfx card then you would know long before and would adjust settings appropriately.

This is either a malfunction hardware wise or driver bugs either way associated with heat I would say

Software does not cause physical damage to hardware. It was just bad luck that CloD was running when your GPU failed. What brand GPU?

Not guy, I played 200 - 300 hrs, but always or sometime CloD was unestable in combat or over small and long city´s... more launch.exe error. More shoters, lags, ghost... and auto reset Pc, with all and diferent Nvidia controlers...

Sorry guys, but, a software can damage a grapich card to overheart, or similar...I create the last year a profile to activate GPU fan at 100% when CloD run and Temp always was over 60 - 65ºC..,

But if I dont play CloD, and I Play other games how Battle field 3 or ROF, me PC work very fine and not give problem me.

Me solution is not play more CloD... becouse my computer is in danger...
I wait to new patch to CloD and profile oficial to Nvidia for CLOD

If your system is unstable from before is a strong sign that something is wrong besides the problem when playing games. Secondly, you say your card doesn't go over 60-65c which i have a hard time to believe unless you use liquid cooling or a 3rd party custom cooler on the gfx card which i dont have the impression of being the case here. Nvidia cards reaches easily up to 80-90c in a game that pushes the limits on a stock cooler.
Download HWmonitor (google it) and let it log while you play to see the max temp reached. ALT+TAB to windows while playing will not show you the correct, current temp, in a general temp monitor desktop gadget, as the GPU will drop 15-20c in an instant when you switch.

Could you provide more information on your setup?

What type of cabinet, how many fans and fan size... etc
