Well personally I find this current fashion much more rediculous than lederhosen or kilts:

allegedly there are two main reasons for the trousers down look:

1) inmates are not allowed belts, so their trousers hang down. So it's like saying "I'm gangsta cos Ive done time in jail"

2) keeping your trousers halfway down your bottom is apparently a sign in jail for saying "I'm up for some backdoor fun"

well reason 1 doesn't apply with those fetching prison coveralls, leaving only reason 2 as valid, I saw a documentary clip once which left little doubt over it.

hmmm......thinking about it none of that makes sense.
