while it is not necessary (after all, you are swapping one 560ti for another with just more ram), it can be advisable at times to do it. if you installed the nvidia driver, you won´t need to reinstall, as that driver contains not just the information for your specific card, but for almost all other geforce GPUs as well. if you have installed a manufacturers driver, then you will have to reinstall all drivers, as it is highly likely, that the provided driver had been "tuned" to fit the cards need.

Thanks for the reply FFCW_, I originally installed the driver supplied on Disc but since then installed the latest Nvidea drivers.
As for Bench Marking, I suppose I ought to do some comparisons using the Black Death Track but my system is probably not best to test one against the other.

Seems I didn't read the ad correctly....damn! .
![]() I placed an order for a 2GB 560 but it is not the ti version. The latter is about £30 more but not sure wether to cancel it, pay the extra or go with it since a lot of the reviews say that a standard 560 oc'd performs reasonably well. I only ever envisage running at max res of 1920 x 1080 (when the game is fixed!) and sticking with my current 24in 1080i monitor. Ah well, will think about it over the weekend but any comments would sure be useful to help me decide...... ![]()

I would save cash for 6 more months and get gtx580 1.5. or 3gb when they get cheaper because newgen nVidia cards would be out.

Let me see if I can think how you think...
Any little extra fps that draws nearer the chance of predicting Mr.X's trajectory for a long deflection shot is worth its weight in gold, right? ![]() The 2Gb VRAM is going to give you a lot more eye candy without any impact on the fps (the fps practicaly halves when your VRAM reached its capacity and your GPU starts swapping data from the main memory or, even worse, the hard disk...). That is good! But you need more for what you have in mind! Since you commited the money, pay the additional 30 and get the good version of the 560ti. I have read in some reviews that the new version is very near to the performance of the GTX570. So my comment, pay and get the good one. ~S~ PS. I solved my problem otherwise; I fly blue so I do not have to fly against Kosedub ![]() |
