Default My only wish for BOB...

is that the single player dynamic campaigns can be played co-op with friends or squadmates.

this was a huge shortcomming of IL2/FB/AEP etc.

sure you could play a psuedo-campaign online with friends.. but it was not at all like the single player campaign.

now some of you will say to use that 3rd party tool.. and we did, but it still wasn't the same.

my squad wanted to run an ongoing dynamic campaign with around 12 of us once a week as a training tool. but the game just didn't do it well enough to make it happen.

agree that would be a dream come true.

imagine being able to run something like BOBII WOV campaign, but online...

sorry, I have to go take a cold shower...

maybe i should clarify alittle.

what i meant was a number of my budies on the same team flying in a dynamic campaign against the "AI". basically, an exact replica of single player... but the seats in your squadrons flights can be filled by real people (and have their sortie details remembered).

currently IL2 has no such feature.

the version we have of it in-game looks like the same type of play that was found in the VEF online wars, and its not the same.

how it should have been done:
i start a single player co-op campaign... that looks and plays just like a single player campaign. anyone who connects to me before i hit fly is automatically assigned to a plane on my mission at my airfield. if noone connects.. it will just be like a single player campaign.

I think he's talking about something similar to co-ops in Gears of War or (different type of game but the principle is the same) Crackdown on the 360. Single player and multiplayer game is the same thing and you leave your single player game open so at any time a friend can join you. The online co-op campaigns system already in IL2 sort of does this already however.

Is it possible to fly static campaigns co-op? That would be neat.

I wonder if Oleg could assist the 3rd party in making a version of scorched earth for BOB. It would be nice to see a strategy element (two player?) incorporated at some point (this is traditional for BOB sims).
