We are currently not using HL due to a bug with the official patch. It seems like you get more than 50 players on a server now and the dedicated server becomes unresponsive. Chat messages / kill messages are for w/e reason getting delayed now after so many players. For instance, you can chat to yourself, and you won't see it show up in game while this is happening.
I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but the server browser used to show all the servers in less than a second. Now it seems, searching in game, that it takes several seconds for the browser list to show up. So, by process of elimination, we are trying to see if HL (for w/e reason) is aiding to cause this problem. I highly doubt it, but it's worth a shot. The steam browser showing # of players in my sig has never faulted EVER before the official patch. Now it can get stuck on a certain number of players for hours on end (not updating). I'd have to think the 2 are related somehow. We could have 75 players before, and granted there would be stutters with regards to spawning etc, you could always read and see the chat. Now the chat will just flat out stop, as if the data is bottle necked at some point. And when enough people have left the server, or enough time has past, all the sudden the server will catch up again and show messages. And this has nothing to do with the server hardware peaking etc., there's definitely a new found fault in the game and I believe the problems with something as simple as the browser thingy in my sig are all related the major problem. It's very frustrating to say the least. We should have 100+ players on there with no problems (albeit the same one's the game has had for a long time.) |

Ah I didn't realize steam has updated a few times as I've been away. Maybe it's sorted now?

Nevermind. All messages just stopped etc, steam falling behind I guess. How could they have broken this?

I was in the server earlier today when this happened. I'd flown across the channel to France, and the only contact with blue was a single 109, angled up 60 degrees and sometimes inverting, moving forward at maybe 60mph like some kind of RC plane. My gunnery wasn't the greatest but I did score a few good hits, even got his rudder off, but nothing seemed to affect it.
On my flight back to Hawkinge the server caught up and spammed messages everywhere. I'm thinking there might've been a delay in everything else too (not just chat) based on that 109 described above. Either that or there was a bugged 109 in the air and I happened to visit France after all the blue players left for England.

I did not (it was the ATAG Server). As Bliss stated he's not using HL at the moment, and assuming my problem was actually due to lag/desync, then there's either a problem with Steam, CoD, or both - something quite severe that warrants looking at if it continues to cause problems.

I was asked if Repka servers can be listed on Hyperlobby.
As I can not find a FAQ or manual for CloD server owners on the HL site could you please update the first post with step-by-step instructions on how to do it? I am not the server owner and asked BigRepa if he wants the servers to be listed about a month or 2 ago but he does not have time to go in details being busy with server stability, hardware and software issues. He is not registered here and it looks like I have to provide a simple 1-2-3 steps guide to him. On my side I have 2 questions: Version HyperLobby 4.2.12 is the only one in free access. Added on: 14-Feb-2011 Does it support CloD or when CloD version will be in free access (no registration requirement)? How to remove HL prefix is server browser? It makes an already long server/mission name prohibitively long to fit the available space. The browser reduces the font size to make the name fit into the available space which looks really ugly. |

There's a reason for registration at the HL site, all discussion regarding the beta is to be made there and not here, the reason for this is to stop fragmenting information across two forums.
