I copied my 4.08 install and just patched that with no problems. Two squadmates did the same and HAD problems! Strange stuff!

Everything worked fine, just needed to reinstall only 1 .dll. It seems that the mg_snd_sse.dll is buggy. The other new ones are fine. I get over Slokavia the following FPS:

Max: 75
Avg: 45
Mean Avg (meaning the most constant) : 35

I run it on perfect 1024x768 32 bit with 2x AA and 8x Antrosoptic.

My system specs are:

Winblows Vista Home Premium SP1 beta
AMD Athlon X64 Dual 5200+
ATI Radeon X1650SE with cat. 7.11
2 gigs memory

I am a Happy Base Camper

how do you install the 4.09b patch with the version switcher? Could you explain the procedure as I don't want to mess up my 1946 4.08 installation?

many thanks,
Eckhart

Ok, let me sum it up a bit...

Apparently there is no problems with core DLL`s...Except some texture flickering along the coast lines for some 8800 series owners, yes?

There are no issues with increased visibility while setting LandGeom=3...

There is an issue with sound dlls, that kinda not related to this topic, but i`ll make a note of it. The issue seems to be with early AMD XP series and some AMD 64s....

Did i get it right?

Sounds about right Ivan, the video is OK with my ATI card. Just the one .dll hangs up at 95%. BTW, I have a onboard sound card. Maybe that is the villian ?

The blue "flickering textures" bug on aircraft 3D models is still an issue! Many 8800 owners report having this problem, no matter what driver is used, and no matter what settings are used. I really think all 8800 owners have it, but it manifests itself on a random basis, and some may not have noticed it, unless looking at an aircraft in external view. If you use an 8800 you frequently see the blue flashing textures on the wings and cowling.

FoolTrottel and I have posted numerous screen shots on the nVidia issues thread at ubi, and in here. Several screen shots that accurately show this problem are documented in this thread:http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...1711062135/p/6

This is a very good image of the problem:
