K2
No mods here, clean installation.

And BTW, in my case, the guilty for not starting the game is the new "mg_snd_sse.dll" library. If I only use the new mg_snd.dll, leaving the other old one, the game starts OK.

I have both vanilla and modded versions running on a Quad core Q6600 and Gf8800gts, I have had no problems with either install so far (touch wood)

Every time I load up with the new patch, I get to 95% loaded and then everything crashes. I've tried using the DLLs from 4.07 and .08 and nothing.

If there is a solution posted to this problem somewhere, I've missed it.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm computer illiterate but what I have is a:

P 2Ghz
1Gb Ram
Radean X300 video card with 128DDR memory

Well before you get your panties in a wad, what dll's are you trying? Be specific if you want timely help.

Anyone with ATI card and 7.12 drivers run into the problem with the water=1, =2? Texture corruption and flickering? Seem to be an issue with ATI1800/1900 series. At least for me. Tested on 1800XTX and 1900XTX, same result.. water surface on the distance looks like a bunch of stripes.. one normally textured, one kinda shiny... Went back to previous set of drivers 7.8 and issue went away....

Yes, I had the same issues with a x1950GT AGP: striped textures and bad performance. In my case the 7.11s are the best option.

Just a question: Do you have a small texture corruption on the cockpit frame in Fw 190 cockpit, when you look to the right side in the lower right corner of the screen? Even with the 7.7 Catalyst I have this issue, no matter if it is in perfect mode or not, although it doesnt happen with DirectX, only in OpenGL.

Urufu,

I tried the DLL replacement download to no avail. Then I tried the Dlls from 4.07 again with no answer and the same result for the 4.08 Dlls

I had assumed seeing as the Dll downloads included 4 - 5 that I was to replace all of them, so that s what I did with the 4.08 and 4.07 change overs

Hmm, it seems that mg_snd_sse.dll is the one thats giving the issues. Was it CSThors's dll's that you used? Perhaps it only seems related, do you have any mods installed? Maybe try re doesnloading and reinstalling the patch, bad download?
