Default Hosting/Running COOP Missions in Lobby Mode

Looking for straight forward "how to" instructions. Would like to create missions, or download missions (like from missions4today in IL2 1946) and run them in COOP mode either through lobby or as server/direct connect.

Problem currently encountering is only host is seeing the aircraft in launching a COOP mission ... client sees only mission objects (like ships). How is client suppose to get into an airplane? Note, we don't have this problem if launching a dogfight mission.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I was testing with Klink today and last weekend too...

We play IL2-46 all the time, but we cannot get the Direct Connect COOP to work online. We managed to get Lobby Dogfight to work, but we have not been able to FMB a custom mission or use the canned ones, and fly them.

What happens is we can join in DC Server/Client, but clients cannot see the a/c or create any on the host's mission. Only the host sees a/c and can enter them. Whats also wierd, is we see eachother in the Lobby or even the mission flag chooser GUI. But it never shows us as being players on the flag columns. Just shows 2 players in the spectator column. All I see as a client are ships, but no active bases or a/c.

Setting up a dedicated server is not viable for us, as we are in a squad that flies pretty much catch as can. We dont have the resources for a dedicated IP and server.

Help.

Hey guys, Ive read its a work in progress. Sounds like we're going to need some patience until it's worked out. Not working.

Elements are in place for it to work technically...just not working how we're used to. Until then, try and take off in a Bleneheim with full CEM. Threres no doubt doubt the community will get it going...make some missions/campaigns

Well we can get Lobby/COOP mission to partially work. In making a mission,
one has to make sure there is a respawn site over a base to allow clients to
create a plane or group of planes. We still cannot get clients to join flights
already made that the Host can join and fly with. Plus, the clients still dont
show up with a player count under the flag of their choosing. Only the Host
shows up as 1 Player, the client shows up as 0.

As host, the only thing I see different, which the clients are not seeing, are the a/c in missions I've already created.

Scenario for this mission was just a simple ship escort mission for the three tankers shown. Escort is a 2-ship Spitfire I, set up for Spawn - Idle. Threats are from a 2-ship HE-111.

If I as host select British side, I see the Spitfire flight and can click either of the 2 planes and enter. If I select the German side, I can see either of the 2 HE-111s and can enter. Client sees neither ... only sees the mission objects, in this case 3 tankers.

By adding a spawn site at the base, as AV8R mentions he can then join and create a flight. However, IMHO, client should also have option of picking a plane in one of the established flights...just like in IL2-1946.

While developers working on improvements, this band-aid fix at least gets us up and flying together.

Any other recommendations for work arounds welcomed.

Thank you.

Klink sends.
