Thumbs up

Lol! thanks for the update Luthier. It's sooo funny to read this thread because it's sooo obvious that "some" people are playing along with the joke but if you read "their" posts closely you can tell "they" are actually ticked off. Mission accomplished Luthier! I dig your style.

Does it means Luthier is having good mood, because he already resolved conflicts with .NET which are causing the crashes? Man, that's good news!

yeah it's quite obvious, the fact that he's in charge of PR for a software house that has sold for good a rough beta is obvious too, as it's obvious that he has no respect whatsoever for his customers.

Take the sound example for a minute: they hired a sound engineer AFTER the game was released.. the scenario that is starting to depict is quite simple: they were forced to release a game, whilst keeping the original roadmap they had planned, and instead of giving some kind of explanation they keep on joking about it, like nothing happened.

Reality check my friends, reality check..

I try to state it clearer... I know that some of you folks are running this sim perfectly and are extremely satisfied. That is great, it really is but to some of us (this includes me) the game is still pretty much in the same state, especially performance-wise as it was on the initial release.

Ok, I admit, performace has improved somewhat, but I really expected more performance gain in the timeframe of 5 months. And before you jump on me; I´m know my way around computers and optimizations and I´m willing to do that (I play Arma II afterall ), but at certain point I came to realize that (at least for my setup) there is no point trying to optimize anymore. Something´s got to be done to the core of the sim itself. This belief is amplified by the fact that I run ROF (not so hardware demanding) and DCS A-10 (pretty damn demanding) everything maxed out with great frame rates.

So, what I´m trying to say is this; to guys that struggle with performance, the patch and work-in-progress details in previous posts by Luthier give little comfort. For us (and believe me, I really am not the only one, you can see that when you look around other forums that are not infected by this utterly stupid "fanboy-whiner war") game in many parts looks ugly, performs badly and feels that it needs a major overhaul. Not some new mineboats, or even some things (like the quality of the sounds) that could, on other conditions considered pretty important.

To us, fixing the performance is the paramount right now.

I don´t think that stating this could hurt anyone´s feelings or ignite other flaming war.

You need to take a deep breath before you have an aneurysm. Oleg stated ages ago that he had to release the game before Christmas last year as he was out of cash. How he got to spring is anyone's guess but I am prepared to cut them some slack even though I have only played 10 hours of CLOD since release. Luthier now has some breathing space and is finishing the sim for us to make his future and ours bright. Take the hate and use that energy for something useful.

Sorry, but line #2 in his post does seem like an update to me. Quick and short one, yes, but an update none the less. Maybe not what we'd like to see (I'd love to see a better roadmap for fixes etc), but hey, at least it's SOMETHING.

Again, 100% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
