I'm quite happy with my MS Force Feedback 2 stick, and I recently added a Track IR to my setup, but I think maybe it's time to add a dedicated throttle to my flight simming. I've never used one in the past, but I'm becoming a lot more proficient with manipulating prop pitch and mixture (via Acusim Spitfire) and I'd like to get my hands on a good throttle peripheral for that game as well as for CoD.
Any suggestions as to what to get? I've been looking at both Saitek's and CH's throttle quadrant, but not having any experience with these devices I'm not sure what to get, or even if those are the ones I should be looking at. I do like the idea of being able to setup multiple engines. My budget is about $200 and under. Halp? |

I've got the Saitek 3 lever quadrant and no complaints here. It's been going strong for 3 years, although in hindsight I wish I had bought the six lever CH products quadrant. I've no personal experience with their stuff, but have heard good things from other simmers.

Since in eBay find CH Throttle Quadrant under 100 U$ and Saitek T.Quadrant for ~50 u$, get CH.
More axis (6 x 3), buttons, and more reliable and durable than Saitek. This use cheap potentiometers - similar to these find in entry level joystick and cheap gamepads = spikes in short time: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/207336-...drant-spiking/ http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.p...53678&start=30 Sokol1 Last edited by Sokol1; 07-13-2011 at 11:44 PM. |

Hmm, I was leaning towards the CH option, however my desk is a corner desk with a sort of rounded curvy bit where I sit in the center. Not sure how I'd mount the thing.

It actually has two clamps underneath it that allow you to clamp it to any flat surface. Solid as a rock.

I just got the CH throttle quad and it's fantastic! No regrets. You have a lever for throttle, propp pitch, mixture, trim, just about anything you want..
Got mine at Amazon for 90 USD. However, did see a promo for 60 USD, but it involved getting a debit card so didn't bother. Cheers.. |

After what seems like ages, I've made the plunge.
Purchased a new CH Throttle Quad. Should arrive within a week. ![]()

Nice. I agree with the cheapness of some of the Saitek stuff, although I really rate the Pro rudder pedals highly. They are set further apart than the CH ones so have a better feel. I've had mine for years with no problems.

Just another vote for the CH Throttle Quadrant. Excellent unit.
