In real life you have about 180+ degrees field of view counting peripheral vision. Your monitor occupies only about 30 degrees out of 180.
Depending on FOV settings you are using in game you have 30, 60 or 90 degrees of ingame view squeezed into these 30 real-world degrees of your monitor. This fact makes objects smaller if you use 60 or 90 degrees FOV in game. To have a more or less real angular dimensions of Spitfire switch to 30 degrees FOV in game. |

Your picture does look weird, must have something to do with your graphic settings, I see not dept in that picture.

LOL, it really looks like a RC model in your pic.I can be caused due to the low setting you are using, there are not textures that helps like reference. In computers like has been explained previously, its very dificult to juzge sizes if you are not using 3d glasses due that you dont have stereographic view.
Other cause could be that due to the low settings , game is using a LOD that does nnot have the correct size. Is very strangle that being both planes in land, your head ant the other spitfire pilot head, should be aligned with horizont, so it seems that the other plane is really smaller. |

It does look small from this pic. I haven't noticed this myself but there will always be something that each one of us will find that looks kind of strange.
