This is why I allways stay with nvidia. You can have a very low cost powerfull hardware, but with bad drivers... all is a mess.

Such Bullshit! If you always stick with Nvidia how do you know the ATI or AMD drivers are shit? Based on one very poorly programmed sim that doesn't even make enough sales to register on either Nvidia's or AMDs radar?

I build and support systems with both types of cards (Nvidia and AMD) and I can assure you they both have their problems with drivers.

Sick and tired of morons telling us AMD suck because of bad drivers, then they go on to say they always buy Nvidia... how the f%$k would you know then!

Wow! chill out ICDP, it was just a comment....

No need to explode like this, we are all poor guys waiting for a good patch and some good SLI (ehem... Crossfire) drivers!

~S~

PS. and some good fans, too (just crossed the 92°C on my GPUs yesterday...)

I'm sorry if you think I went overboard with my response. I get tired of reading fanboy BS, it doesn't matter if it is from anti Nvidia people saying Nvidia are evil or the Nvidia fanboys repeating some tripe about poor AMD drivers. Especially when the people concerned have zero experience to draw upon.

Bit harsh, but he has a point,
Plus the fact of the matter is 1c Proberly are not even testing this game using ati graphic cards, thats why all Ati user are getting left till last for any kind of fixes

I honestly don't think that is the case, otherwise they would never have been able to get Crossfire working. I think the issue is that they just have so many other more serious bugs that things like the 3 blue horizon lines on AMD HD6XXX series cards, or the flickering shadows on all cards are not top of their fix list.

We have broken radio comms
Still some serious optimisation needed in certain areas
Major FM and CEM issues
Broken features such as proper loadouts.

All of these issues will take preference over minor graphical issues.

I have installed some ATI cards time ago, so I know. Never again. Also I read a lot of game forums, and 80% times there are problem with drivers, here you have ATI.
I have also worked in 3D game engines development and the drivers problems or unsupported specifications where always with ATI.
It is a nonsense not to recognize that ATI drivers are worse than nvidia when talking about lastest graphic technologies.

I find it interesting how all these people with "industry experience" always have trouble with ATI cards. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones to have never had a problem with any of my cards in the past 15 years of PC gaming that required more than a quick web search to see what the issue was.

My previous video cards and the OS they were running on. . .

Windows 95/98
Some 3DFX card
S3 something card
Voodoo 2
Voodoo 3, 3000
Voodoo 5, 5500
Some Matrox card I only had for a week.

Windows ME
Radeon 7200

Windows XP
GeForce3 Ti 500
Radeon 8500
Radeon 9800 Pro
GeForce 6500

Windows Vista
Radeon x1400
Some Geforce 7 series card
Radeon 4800
Radeon 5770

Throughout the various upgrades, I've usually managed to make a profit off of all the trades or sales with the exception of 3 or 4 of them. I sold my last system which was a decent rig for about $400 more than it was actually worth, so right now I'm using a system that I built entirely from old systems I've found in the electronics recycle bin at the dump and waiting for CloD to be patched to a "working state" before I spend my cash on a gaming rig.

Out of all these systems, I've never had an issue that kept me from playing a game. The only occasional problem would usually involve a 2 minute google search for the issue, then a small fix recommended by someone with a similar problem. 9 time out of 10 this problem was an issue with Windows not having a specific update or dll. As for ATI issues, the only problem was when playing the Combat Mission series, and the text in-game had an opaque box around it. That was a 15 second fix. As for Nvidia issues, I think one was with the game Messiah (which was a bugfest) and the other was with one of the early 3D RTS games (Metal Fatigue I think). That was rectified by waiting a month for the next driver update.

As for CloD and ATI, I'd say the blame rests on Maddox Games as this is one of the buggiest games I have ever, EVER encountered.

Well, u would be wrong, Luthier stated a long time ago that AMD just wasnt intrested in working with the team to optemize drivers for AMD cards. (unlike NVidia)

So e-mail AMD and put the blame where it belongs for once.

If i where Luthier and i wouldnt lose money on it i wouldnt even bother to get Amd cards working when they show little or no interest to help out and make CoD teams life a whole lot easier regarding at least that issue.
