Freetrack needs a couple of files to fix it to work with the PS3 Eye as well as the CLEye drivers - I assume that's what's been posted in the mediafire link above - have a quick look in the Freetrack forums and you'll find the full instructions.

Freetrack is nowhere near stable on my machine, but it'll only usually crash after playing the game has ended, and in all honesty it does a much more accurate job compared to facetracknoir - don't get me wrong, ftnoir has a lot of potential and requires very little setup, but a well set up freetrack system is much more accurate at the moment - and no doubt trackIR would be more accurate, and in turn much more expensive.

Facetracknoir is currently the only one that will do it without the need for any hardware hacking whatsoever.

I don't know of any other face/IR tracking projects other than facetracknoir, freetrack and trackIR - it'd be interesting to see what someone could do with the kinect SDK, but it's a relatively expensive option, comparable to the trackIR product really.

i'm not kidding, i'm serious, and i don't need to watch youtube videos because i installed it and uninstalled the next day, but if you are happy with it, good for you, it's not my business, probably we have different ideas of what is cpu demanding..

Yeah I tried out facetracknoir and the results were not very good at all. There was giant amounts of lag between the time I would move my head and it would get any reaction on the screen. Maybe it was something to do with the fact that I removed the IR filter from my camera and that is giving it a bad picture or something. But for now I still use freetrack.

The ultimate solution will be whenever anybody makes something that uses a Kinect I guess

I have a PS3 eye with FT, using Alexp's drivers and the FT file fixes (will check to see if they are they same ones as linked above). It works flawlessly on XP32 with Il1946 but I have had a lot of problems with the same set up in CoD on Win 7 64bit.

It's not the PS3 eye because I tried my MS VX1000 webcam and still got FT hanging when sometimes starting or exiting a mission. No one else seemed to report any instability and FT freezing so I guess its something with my install.

Been away and Just got back, hopefully sometime this week I can try and find out why this is happening.

If anyone did have problems and found a fix let me know or that FT with CoD is stable on their P.C.

I just wanted to drop another positive FtN post in this thread.

It actually works best with a PS3 webcam so give it a go. I've been using it for ages now and I'm very happy with the latest build. It's not quite as precise as TrackIR for 6dof but it is a very viable alternative.
