i think he got lost in the moment or didnt get the vibe from the thread...to me it looks like a few people are chatting amongst themselves as opposed to 'demanding' a patch which is what hes implying...

nvm

I'm sorry I offended you, but it was kindof on purpose to offend the "mindless people" that keep asking just for the sake of asking. It reminds me of : "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" The answer is still no. Some guy already highlighted the same quote you threw at me and I re-quote:

To most people here, my post wasn't offensive but rather funny and I talked in general, I didn't attack you specifically. You just happened to be in the target group.

You, however, just served your own head on a silver plate by calling me, specifically, an idiot. Why do such a thing?

Likely, Probably and Hopefully. These words were used frequently during development and have proved useful on more than one occasion.

Also, surely Tree if I borrow your huge magnifying glass from your avatar a sec. Thank you... let's see... ah! Clue! Tuesday. He hasn't specified which Tuesday he's thinking about!

Also to add on the quote list : Be sure. It means the opposite multiplied with a random value between 2 weeks and 5 years.

*Hands back magnifying glass* Thank you!

Come on guys... seriously. It's not like Luthier is sitting at home, drinking beer infront of the TV and suddenly going "HOLY KREMLIN! I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THAT PATCH LMFAOROFLLOLZ!!"

Let me semi-quote Luthier and say "If he's not posting here, he's busy fixing the game or reading complaints".

SERIOUSLY! Listen to Obama, chillpills!!! Now! Some of you guys need to OD on them.

At the end of the day some people fail to understand that software development, no matter what the project, is not an exact science. And it's unfortunate that we live in a "I must have it now" society where some people find it hard to come to grips with the concept of patience.

Here’s an email trail of my experience at work …

Manager:
Quote:
Hi Marc,
In <boss>'s absence could you please advise on the below?
Hi <boss>,
Could you please advise when our Team Leaders will have access to the Performance Calculator?

Me:

Quote:
Hi <Manager>,

I'm unable to give an exact date, <boss> and I need to run some tests on the data your Team Leaders have provided us to make sure the calculator is reflecting accurate results before releasing it. I've set aside two weeks ( ) to get things finalised; however, <boss> has got the final say on when it goes live.
Manager:
Quote:
Hi Marc,

Due to the fact that we need to deliver Performance Management Reviews now, can we aim to get this application ASAP? Or should I advise the Team Leader to deliver PMRs in the old excel docs?
This "unknown" is frustrating for the Team Leaders and Consultants.”
Me:
Quote:
If the TL's need to deliver their Performance Reviews right now then by all means deliver them via the old workbooks.

I can appreciate the frustration. At this time though, we still don't have all the Team Leader’s half year results as requested, and all their workstation ID to deploy the Calculator. Also, I'm testing the integrity of the data that we do have through the calculator, and coding in the "print" function so the TL's can produce a hardcopy of the results.

Having discussed this with <boss> our aim is to have everything in place, ready to go for Team Leader's to start entering in April's results by May, and to have all the first half results stored and verified.

I hope this provides you with some clarity.
... this happened a day after demonstrating the application at a managers meeting and clearly stating that the application was not ready.

I feel for you Luthier

I don't blame the development team for not releasing a patch before it is ready.

There is an extremely vocal element in our community that is highly critical and would jump on even minor bugs and flood the forum with digital effluent.

Ah Well it is the price we all have to pay!

Cheers to the development team for their continued hard work and diligence.
