i have played WOP 2 hours in my life. didnt like for not having all the great stuff il2 has. Im far from gollum-WOP-fan.
the " WOP maps are so small that dont occupy enough VRram" is crap. building in il2 POPout in 5 km radius, wich is rediiculous. WOP may not have the 200 KM+ view of CLOD but at least in its all 50-60 KM range buildings are consistent and not popping. Clod visuals are disapointing. I wouldnt have WOP ones over it, but there is a LOT 1c could learn from WOP |

I am sure pop up can be fixed, it's just the LOD that needs to be set at a higher setting so it blends in with the distance. Probably how WOP does it pop ups so they are less/not noticable. But seeing as the graphics of CLOD are mostly in DX9 then yes WOP is going to look miles better, as they move the DX10-11 stuff over to the sim then it will leave WOP behind, I think, in all areas. Its been only one month after release so there is still plenty of waiting to be done, but it will be done. Hell Creative Assembly is only rolling out their DX11 patch for Shogun 2 tomorrow and that is a AAA studio!

That's a load of steaming bullcrap, WoP fades stuff in at a far closer range than that and it's easy to use a narrow point of view and see no buildings at all.

I like the way WOP looks, but can't give up COD for all the great things it has to offer. |

I have played IL2: 1946 and now have it with HSFX 5.1.
I will not for the very considerable future, delete 1946 Modded, nor the other 1946 stock I have. They are incredible Simulations. Wings of Prey is an incredible game, it's fun, impressively detailed and I can use it now. I have CloD, it sits on my machine and I occasionally load it up and see if it's playable, but alas it's like being told you can race a car.....but you have to build it first. Cliffs of Dover, for me as it stands currently, is like getting Tim Robinson's Meccano Difference Engine: and then having to help fix it so it works! I think for now, I'll continue with 1946 + HSFX 5.1 and also WoP, and wait while everyone enjoys fixing CloD for me ![]() Cheers, MP
