Taxing with the spit?

[Buzzer]

Im one who like to taxi out to the runway/strip; do my take-off check; then roll...
In the spit Im having a hard time steering the aircraft on the ground.
It seems to go straight ahead, sometimes it can make shallow turns.

Im using everything from little to full rudder, varying the throttle, trying to use left/right brakes (which obviously don't work on the spit)...still going straight...

No problem with the 109 etc.

What am I doing wrong? Or is it bugged? Tailwheel just seems to be skidding along...
