Seems to good a PC to scrap. I think you would get a good midlife upgrade by concentrating on RAM and your vidcard. A Good powersupply is often overlooked but is essential. Remember any Vidcard could be transfered to any replacement you buy at a latter date. I would say to play il-2 CoD min spec would be 4 gig ram and 1gig vid card and even then you will have to turn the eye candy down. However this is a budget upgrade but worth considering. I allways feel towards the end of a computers life its worth thinking about overclocking. What the hell if you fry the chip, your gonna replace it anyway ! Besides I always find a dead computer is the best incentive to shop for a new pc.

Thanks Whoarmongar and Jibo,
So let's say its RAM addition and a switch to WIN7. The only question remaining is the GPU. can someone recommend a GPU that will give good value / performance ratio, and once I'll switch to another system, maybe I will get it a twin brother and go SLI? |

I dont think SLI is worth the grief. better I think to buy One good card than 2 average and wait for SLI issues to be resolved. Im a longtime ARMA2 player and SLI never worked for people in that game, black screen, blue screen crashes just exasperated the sli equiped players. I must emphasize yet again that The power supply must be good, Buy the best you can afford, scimping in this area is not advised.

Check out the deals at cyberpower pc. You can modify it to fit your needs, and they will build it and send it to you...cheaper than upgrading yourself. By the time I bought everything I needed to upgrade I could have bought a whole system cheaper from them lol!
