Will there be ground crew and vehicles arming and fueling the planes? Will there also be ground crew moving around the airfield while we are taxiing our airplane around for takeoff and landing.

Smile 2 Questions for Oleg:

(1) What i'd really like to know is if there will Custom Squadron Insigna/Regimentals for Coops and Online gameplay. Also will there be online squadron command & control upport in the interface like current pilot rosters, killbaords, pilot records ect. for online squadrons. If not could these things be added by 3rd party.

(2) If i resend you the Regimental Files that i gave you after Pacfic-Fighters was realesed...could we mayby get at least the 58th Fighter Group 5th AF coded in the game so the regimentals for thess squadron's will show in the FMB & Coop Screens? I know that there is little time but it's been over 2 years now. i still have the file if you want it.

thanks Oleg

Oleg: I know the game engine will feature dynamic campaigns, but will there also be any sort of static campaign following the historic events for each day as they can be read in history books (with the approximate numbers of raids and the targets for those raids - airfields or London etc.)?
Will there be historically accurate weather for each of those days (I mean will there be ex. fog/rain/clear on certain days in the campaign)?

Thanks Oleg

The terrain and mapping software looks like a map makers dream. The level of detail that will be available in SOW should be amazing and I have no doubt you will achieve your vision of a cinematic combat flight sim. I've been waiting patiently since 2004 and it would appear that SOW will exceed even my expectations.

Thumbs up New Map making tools and Tank and Vehicle models

Thankyou very much for this update Oleg.

The map making tools are a very significant step forward from our current IL2 FMB - creating more realistic harbours, towns, cities, factories, railway yards and airfield environs etc. using historic old photos and contour maps will be a great benefit to the game.

The German Tank models and vehicles are also excellent - I can see how you are gradually merging the air and ground environs to one great battle environment where you could set up a ground battle and air support, perhaps deciding to play either as a ground commander or squadron leader.

To you and your team, keep up the very good work.

Whoever removed the Oleg Answers thread can they edit it and return it as a sticky again.
People keep asking questions already asked a 1000 times which makes Oleg's job harder.
I transplanted some of what he said to our SA site but a lot is missing.

To answer the gunner question Oleg has indicated that a moral system and real world physics will play a roll.

Their will be ground activity but do not expect a FPS.
Rearming and refueling will be in, but this will not be 100% acurately modeled to assist online play.
