Win7 pro 64bit oem isn't 100. That's what I require. I've been using oem since the 8088 days.
Im thinking its a driver issue not a OS issue. I just got a brand new gtx 460. Seems tthis issue is mostly nvidia also.
I may bite the bullet at the end of the month and get win7 if I have any money left. Issue still needs to be fixed cause it makes the game unplayable.

How about background stuff running, I never see/read about that. Any kind of virus checking, malware checks, can slow down the load of a texture as it is checked by the background software. I've seen it happen before on hungry games. Everything possible in the background must be turned off, esp prgs that check what you're doing. Waiting on new system and COfD in the US. Being built with absolutely nothing extra, and even checking in Win7 will be off by default. No way to play it on this system I built for IL-2.

This is probably why you see almost identical systems with wide difference of results

guys it's not your system, it's the game engine. so just wait for the next patches.

If it was just the game engine then everyone would be experiencing the same problems.

Since the patch many people have experienced improved performance and game play. I expect that when reporting issues to the developers it very important to fully explain the issues, when it occurs and your system set up.

Otherwise it would be impossible for them to identify the problem.

Cheers!

Yes, its $99 at Newegg for a single license OEM version of Win7 64 bit. I bought it 3 weeks ago from them...

Exactly the same thing...
Dust and the "fog" that appears when hitting an enemy airplane causes massive fps drops...
Even on takeoff, dust almost freezes the game..

Have you tryed full settings? It might run better. Mine did. But I found in my case, clouds to be heavy stutters.
