Max FPS: 40, Min FPS: 14, Average: 29-30 FPS - Free Flight over France
Big stutters from time to time but overall a slight performance increase but really not very much.

Settings:
1680x1050, Fullscreen
Modeldetail: High
Buildingdetail: Very low
Landscapedetail: Low
Trees: Off
Visual Effects: High
Damagedetail: High
Buildingamount: Low
Landscapeshading: Low
Grass: Off
Shadows: On
Roads: On

Changing settings after having startet a mission caused the launcher to crash. Other tests showed that buildings are the no. 1 FPS killer for me. With everything else on high except for buildings I have almost the same FPS as with the settings stated above.

Also it is nice to see that the strange gunneryproblem has been addressed

My PC specs:

Mainboard: Gigabyte P55 UD3L
CPU:Intel Core I5 760
GPU:ATI Radeon 4870
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 4Gb
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Service Pack 1
Powered by an Enermax Liberty 400W

installed beta patch.

Damage model, when I damage enemy planes a tree comes out of the damaged area?

Hurricane Radiator, outside view of flap is fixed.

Hurricane mixture lever, when mixture is on 100% lever shows WEAK not RICH.

Installed Patch

System: I5 2500k @ stock
Graphics: Radeon HD6970 2GB Vram Overclocked
Mem: 8GB DD3 (Kingston)

Updated my system recently to cope with this game. Seems to run quite fine now at 1380x768 max settings (only buildings amount set to high instead of unlimited). Only dips in FPS and stuttering are when I fly over major cities like London, seems the buildings could use some serious optimizing. Also AA seems not to be working right now even if you set it to 8.

Another thing that is bugging me a bit is that the colours on my Radeon seem quite washed out compared to some Nvidia screens I see. And I have three horizontal blue lines on my horizon often (like mentioned in other posts as well). Will post a screenshot when I get back home.

But yeah, game runs rather smooth most of the time for me now.

couple of small graphical issues I noticed

I shot at a Do17 and when I hit the engine a tree/shrub/bush flew out of it.

When hit by a 110 I saw tracers flying out the side of my aircraft.

Performance has increased for me and I can run forests with virtually no hit to fps which is nice and makes the landscape look fantastic. Still having to run a much lower resolution and still getting micro stutters when buildings pop up. Sound is a little messed up also.

I had TrackIR problems originally where the TIR seemed to be unpredictable and repositioned my head very often, especially left and right. It still does it but either its not so much or I am just getting used to it. It is a pain though and if there's anything that can be done that would be great. I am constantly pressing my "Centre TrackIR" button. I get a similar but far less effect in IL-2 (I know thats a mod but its also a reference). Worst of all is the vertical range I get with TIR. It seems I can only look up and down by a limited amount. If I centre TIR on my gunsight I can move my view quite a way upwards but only down to the bottom of the instrument panel. If I centre it on the instrument panel I can then look down at the lower controls but I can't look much above the front canopy frame. I don't think it's a TIR problem as the TIR scale/grid view continues to move beyond the cockpit range.
Could be 'TrueView', if it's on try disable it in your Trackir profile.

Before installing the patch, a question: Can it be uninstalled if things get worse? How do I uninstall it?

The patch has made a slight FPS improvement for me at all settings and test missions, and has changed the nature of the stutters from big random ones, to small, regularly spaced stutters. In the test results below, stutters are present unless otherwise stated.

Test settings are as follows:

CPU = Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz)
RAM = 4GB
Graphics = GeForce GTX460
OS = Windows7 Prof 64bit

Resolution = 1280x800
Fullscreen = yes
Anti-Alias = x2
Detail = High
F10 panel = off
Clouds = off
user ini files = tweaked - see them here (around page 10): http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=20055

Tests:

Quick Mission 2 - Freeflight - England
flying over Dover:
original FPS = 9 to 12
post-patch FPS = 14 to 17

flying over Shepherdswell & countryside:
original FPS = 17 to 22
post-patch FPS = 20 to 25

Quick Mission 4 - Freeflight - London
low flying over Thames:
original FPS = 3 to 7
post-patch FPS = 4 to 8

Quick Mission 1 - Freeflight - Channel
stutters = No
original FPS = 50
post-patch FPS = 52

Quick Mission 5 - Cross Country - England
flying low just after takeoff:
original FPS = 20
post-patch FPS = 25

I also noticed several things:
  • The control tower has been fixed!
  • Crash animation much faster and smoother
  • Waving grass fast and smooth
  • land shading from crash site smoke was occasionally glitching with black triangle shape

Regards,
BobTuck.
