I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying a gtx 580 with 3 GB VRam.
That much ram is only needed if you plan to run at a res of over 2000X1200 ish.

If you plan on only running at 1024 x768 with AA cranked up then 512mb would likely be enough

As I said, 1920x1080 all maxed out with AA and AF on will be the settings i want to play on.

My dream to actually fly these planes has come true partly due to the efforts of you and your team. Thanks for all your amazing work and for making this 53 year old kid's dreams come true. I'm sure the finished game will be awsome.

I dont think so. From what ive read the amount of ram you need is driven by what resolution you want to run. I plan on running on a 19" monitor at 1024 x 768 with hi AA and AF settings. This will likely look as good as most higher res settings but take less fps hit.

Well as long as you can afford hundreds on a video card then go for it. I have a huge mortgage and kids that suck all my money up.

I can't wait to see pictures of Map/ Terrain editor. I looked old WIP pictures and there was pictures of user made mountain. I'm praying and hoping that we can make even small Dogfight maps.

Battle OF Britain is one of my favourite airbattles ever, but i also love to make maps of other fronts and as a Finn i believe that it will take years before i can hope to see official East Front addon of Gulf Of Finland.

Finlands war against USSR wasn't the largest airwars, but if you look at the list of Fighter Aces, you find that Finns were second best right after Germans.

Waiting is soon over...But i need a new rig.
I have Nvidia 3d Vision glasses + LG 3D Display+ Nvidia 8800Gt and playing in " Real" 3d enviroment should be cool. But i need better PC now.....LOL

I would like to say, that known date of release doesn't means that we has been stopped the work that to silver the product.
And when the gold version has been sent to print I assume you will continue working on the zero day 1.01 patch that will be available the day the game is released? That's a nice policy that many developers try to achieve these days of tough deadlines

I'm curious about the tracer: the 3D nature of it is awesome, but am I the only one who thinks that it looks a bit like a string of cotton balls? Obviously it's all still WIP, but just thought I'd post this in case no one else had.

This picture may not be the best source to compare to (obviously because the camera won't pick up a real picture) but a difference can be noted

Awesome update; your dedication to this sim is commendable.

They seem are a little thick through my eyes, I don't know at what altitude that pic was taken but this would actually seem very real at higher altitutes, cold air hot bullets A little bit more stretched and a little thinner for lower altitudes would be just perfect! A perfectionist speaking of course
