FPS = frames per second - the rate at which the screen gets updated. Increasing display detail or turning on the mirror can make a noticeable difference to this.
Some people seem to have an obsession with FPS though - If you can't see the difference, don't worry about it... |

S!
You can look around with the mouse, TrackIR or POV hat of your joystick or even keyboard. The views are configurable to a keystroke in the Control setup in IL-2, very easy and straightforward to use. Best option of course would be TrackIR of course, but down to your own personal preference. |

thx i know how to look around but i wanted to know how most of the players do it??
i do it with my joystick right now, cause i think its really hard to handle it with the mouse if youre in a dogfight and need to have the hands on throttle and stick. but with the mouse you can look in every direction while i cant with my joystick. if i use free look mode i can only look up,left, right, and behind on both sides. but i cant choose how far i want to look in each direction.for example if im on someones six and he´s climbing, i have to look up to have a view, but with the free look mode you look 90degrees upside, so there are some seconds where i cant see the enemy, in which he can escape. so i play with the mode where you tip to one direction and it remains there until you give another input.but thats hard too, because if someones on your six and you look back, but suddenly overshoots you,it takes a while until you can look forward again, cause you need to give 3 inputs. so i wanted to ask which the common tactic is to look around. |
