It's either 1:

"Wait a minute, I need to take care of one thing here..."

Or it might be something else.
Its both. Those dialogue options both appear for selection before you take off for the willi krauf.

Yes that would be great to say " I need to find someone to watch my car first" or some such hint.

*SPOILERS*
So umm the mission named "Grand Finale" (last mission for Rebels, I assume). I'm supposed to find some tapes in Sosa's office? However, all the paintings in the building seem rather... inert. They can't be interacted with. How do I find the tapes?

Btw,
Guy named Costa in Santa Maria has a clue where both Castillo brothers are. The info is part of a mission (the revenge mission for the mechanic). Hope this helps

Highlight for spoiler:

The safe is in the room with no windows in the main government building in Artrigo. The safe is triggered by the player reaching a certain spot, so go to that room and wander around a bit and you'll find it.

Got it done. It also has to be the main character, your avatar, that needs to be selected in order for the cursor to change when you hover it over the right object. This was the problem. The cursor doesn't change if you have some other merc selected. ALTHOUGH it could've been the zoom level, too. I usually keep rather zoomed out view, and that's why the cursor change may have not triggered. Also, upon zooming in on the room, I noticed the light switches were operational. Go figure Wonder what else I've missed.

Take notes, kids.

You need to complete that mission before you can trade with that faction. The trader is Calderon himself, so go back to the mission giver and end that mission, then go back to Calderon and you'll get the trading option in the dialog.

Question Can't "rescue" Tanya. She's hostile.

Found the tunnel into the prison. When my team surfaced into a room inside the prison, had to take out about 6 rebels just outside. Sent two squads around the inside perimiter in opposite directions. One squad found Tanya at the main gate. When we approached her, she ran for the exit, then turned to shoot us. I kicked her unconsous and disarmed her (twice! - rifle & pistol). When she recovered, she was still combative. Looks like I have to kill her.

There were still some rebels alive in the prison building. Will Tanya surrender if we take out all of them before we approach her?

Seemed like the only 2 options I now have is to kill her or let her get away. I presume either result will fail the mission.

I read this thread about using the uniforms. Is that the only way to complete the mission?

The rebels aren't supposed to be hostile, there must be some other issue at work here.

If you use the tunnel, Tanya will be killed after a period of time after you breached the prison perimiter. That time depends on what difficult level you're playing, so I can't give you an exact time frame.

The best way to do this mission is to save the uniform from the guy you killed with a snake in a previous mission. If you go to El Vertigo with only your main merc and wearing that uniform, you can bluff your way through the main gate without worrying about any time limit.

Oh, I just saw that you're working foir the Govt, why worry about her surviving? Just kill her if you can and get back to the mission giver, but I think she's supposed to survive, the rest of the campaign depends on it.

Default Tanya "rescue" (possible spoiler)

Turns out it doesn't fail the mission if Tanya is killed vs. being brought in alive.

Rather than start the rescue mission over, trying a different approach, I cleared the remaining rebels out of the sector. (Holy crap there was a lot of weapons & gear laying about at the end of the battle! Almost all the guards had been wasted by the rebels!)

Then I reported back the government. They didn't care that Tanya got killed. I didn't get paid as much (but I'll make even more from selling the equipment dropped.) Then they reported a phony trial in which Tanya was convicted and executed. Lying bastards.

I wonder if anyone one else playing for the Govt was able to bring Tanya back alive and how they did it? OneMug
