It's the station crest for RAF Coltishall just down the road from me. Douglas Bader was Squadron Leader there briefly in 1940 (Hurricanes). He down his first plane, a Dornier, at nearby Great Yarmouth)

I used to use this one before the 360th

31 SQN Goldstars(the latin is "First into Indian skies", based at Marham, last airforce sqn to leave Germany(Bruggen). Before my dad left the airforce he did their operations planning. Plus they have (or atleast had) more tornados than any other squadron.

Nice one. Marham's super busy with Tornados now. Coltishall closed when the Jaguar was decommisioned.

The avatar crest is of 65 squadron which came to kirton airfield for all its repairs after dunkirk ready for the battle and then were based here for about a year after the battle.
The signature crest is of 103 squadron which flew halifax, wellingtons and lancasters from elsham wolds airfield and was part of the main force of bomber command. They were one the first squadrons to attack the v2 instalations at Peenemunde and included the most distinguished lancaster of ww2 (lancaster III ED88 piloted by Mike Squared) for 66 missions. It then joined 576 squadron which was formed from c flight of 103sq for 65 missions and then came back to 103sq for a final 9 missions and setting a new bomber command record.
