Exclamation Battle for Europe Patch :)

Based on participation and other factors observed from this inauguration week I am thinking of changing a few things:

1. First team to submit attack plans are not forced to reveal what Hangar they will choose before 6pm, however, they must submit this info by 11:59pm of the same day. All other information will still follow the rules. Also, minimum % of manpower sent to attack or defend Territory Capture will now be at least 40% instead of 50%.

2. Two Airfields for all CTA matches, if territory is UK's then matches will be in British Map. Same goes for USSR.

3. Number of CTA wins will change to 3 (for attacker if the territory has been successfully bombed), 4 wins (for defenders to win mission), 5 wins (for attackers that have not successfully bombed the territory)

4. Number of ground targets that need to be destroyed for Strategic Bombing success will now be 4 (each ground target destroyed will equal 125 resources from territory's income)

5. A team may surrender a mission if they think necessary so that they can spare loss of manpower. This must be posted on the tournament's thread for everyone to see, and also submitted to me, or to you in case we are the ones to surrender a Mission.

6. Each bomber death will = 3 deaths instead of 5.

7. A reported ramming of a bomber by a fighter plane will result in the player being demoted 1 rank and suspended for 1 day. If reported as accidental, the player will be suspended the rest of that day only.

8. All officers may host or accept any mission (it will be too confusing I now realize, to follow my original idea for this)

Or trying to land my Spitfire at 200 whatever units I have, only to have it spin round and roll onto a wing or tip onto its nose. That is if it doesn't get insta-killed first.

It seems that every single game I've been in ends with double or triple UK deaths to the USSR. It would be fine now and then but wears thin quickly. I did actually come on to retire from the tournament, but don't think I want to go quite that far just yet... But maybe that's why the UK team are somewhat less keen than the USSR...?

(Disclaimer: getting made redundant on Friday probably isn't helping my state of mind towards getting hammered over and over. Sorry)
I feel your pain buddy, I'm the same.

I haven't played a single game yet for team USSR as I'm so shite my kill/death ratio would let the side down big time, and theres no point playing if your not having fun and spend the entire game just running away from everything, Monty python anyone?.... "run away!"

The really annoying part about it is that there is no consistency, one night last week I actually had fun with Varcus, Olife, Macademic and another french player.

I even managed to get a few kills, and all this with a wafty control setup (turned on another controller so the throttle remapped itself over the top of my rudder, pc joystick setup) so the following night I had high hopes I may have improved slighty combined with a properly setup controller, but when I entered a random team battle game against my fellow USSR teamates I soon came crashing back to earth...both literally and mentally.....14 deaths to 1 kill, only cos someone flew through my stream of bullets as I was fruitlessly wasting ammo trying to hit someone else!!

Hope you get another job soon bud.

Those are good changes, but the biggest problem is still that the rules are so Byzantine that only their author can bear them all in mind at once. Even the briefings constantly have to be referred back to.

There needs to be some kind of team penalty for failing to play enough matches. Why would a team need to surrender a mission objective when all it has to do is stop showing up?

It's also pretty unrealistic to expect the ranks listed to see this thread, figure out the rules, form a strategy and PSN it to you, all within 12 hours. There's just not that much activity on this site. Most of the players are far too laid-back for that.

Really sorry for being inactive guys... REal life has kinda taken over. I go to school 4 days a week, and have had many unexpected things pop up... I'll be active ASAP, but I'm worried that I'll make obligations for a match, only to find out 5 minutes before it starts that I can't be there...

Hey my fellow comrades,

I regret to inform you that I won't be able to play in the tourney... please replace me with someone else in my squad. I was really looking forward to flying with you guys, but it will have to wait until sometime in the future, if that's okay....

Exclamation Just Follow the Briefings

Follow the Briefings, write them down if needed (kozzmo, you seem to be managing USSR team, so why not decide the missions for them already. Mirgervin never vistis this forum). Between you and the other USSR players that do participate figure this out.

I manage to do all this organization and keep on schedule, why cant you guys if all you need to do is read what to do 1 time per week????

* I have changed what ranks work for because it would be too "confusing" for you guys to follow my original idea. Dont know what else to do to make this simple.

* All you guys need to do is look at the Briefings 1 time per week, and at the end of a week, get together with your team to set the plans for the next Briefing.

*** Too many people are not enjoying this because it is becoming a "WIN, WIN!!!" focus on the part of USSR team, let players participate kozzmo, why only send your best? Macademic was online last time and reaper1526 and they never participated in those Air SUperiority Matches (only you, Mirgervin, tagemandbagem). However, you take on 2 of my beginner players and then you guys mock them for not wanting to play more? Many times I asked you to play me and someone else a 2vs2 Air Superiority match, you preferred the Y-29 mission. So, it is not our fault you did not have enough time to beat us.

** To all, follow the BRIEFING RULES. I am not interested in continuing this tournament if people are not having fun or are not given the opportunity to do so.

(sorry if this offends any one, but I am spending a considerable amount of time on this and I am beginning to think it is not worth it)

************************************************** ******************
I will cancel this Tournament if necessary, otherwise, ready up for week 1!

Thanks Kozzmo,
(just read your plans)
We are now working on the defense. I will post week1 Briefings before tuesday, as soon as you guys see them posted you may begin the matches.

The objective to capture Italy was to either kill all sent manpower or reach 6 wins (since it was inaguration week and the Territory started neutral, the team with the most amount of wins or least amount of deaths would win)

So, USSR owns Italy's Territory.

Last time Mac was on, he had just moved from Moscow to Malta and forgot to bring his game disc with him, so he couldn't play, otherwise he would have.

Reaper did play in the earlier matches. He would have been in the last air sup matches but he logged off. So we rotated who we had on hand.

USSR players who played last week:

me
reaper
mirg
macademic
tagemandbagem
stingersix
varcus
olife

every one of us played more than once.

since this is about fun, stop and take notice which team is having fun, don't blame us for being competitive. It's a game, but it's a WAR game.

only one I can think of offhand who was available at a match time but didn't make it in was philabong, and I am keeping that in mind for next time he shows up.

This happened once, when there was still plenty of time left, and I had 4 people online and ready. Or did you not really mean that about letting everyone play in matches? You had only time for a 10 min match, then you were off to work.

as for jimhaze and winny, they fought bravely and did well. Nobody's mocking them. It's just a shame there weren't enough matches to see each mission to a decisive objective-complete, and would be in the future too.

this is all last week though, the only reason to mention any of it is to improve the upcoming week.
