Default To the brave few?

Clicked on this post thinking someone was paying homage to the brave pilots of the RAF during the Battle of Britain!
What did I read, some geezer ranting on about how he is the dogs bollocks at arcade flying!
I guess that if you need to start a post telling the world how good you are we should all listen
It's not April 1st is it?

I thought arcade was for the newbies? Have you considered unlocking the next level and moving up! It's called Realistic (just in case you weren't aware) and then, there is 'Simulator'. (If you are looking for a more challenging experience that is.) Us regulars will look out for you when you get to Sim level as will the Realistic peeps. Let us know how you get on.........pretty sure you will!

+1. I did exactly the same thing; thinking I was gonna read some respect & dedication to real life pilots of yesteryear, & end up reading about some 'Prince of Stabilizers' (arcade mode).
Hey mate. Dare you to take me on at Mariokarts. I'll have a red shell up your tail pipe before you can even think about singing your own praises, lol.
So you're good!! Big deal. Better than most!! Big deal. I'm also bloody brilliant at F1 World Championship (N64) with every aid on but after crossing the line 1st I can't help feeling that it just felt like a scalextric car race with hyper-super handling. I had the safety net knowing that nothing was gonna go wrong if I went off or hit anyone & the wins felt very very empty until I moved up, turned off the aids, dropped down to manual shift. Hey sure, I hardly win anymore but, man, the feeling of achievement that's bestowed on you when you make the podium atleast. Catch my drift?
BTW; that was years back. I grew up long ago!!!

he's right about the upsurge...great free4all dogfight sim over 10 players...

shame about the tdm...got spanked 3 times in a row (organised team) and only registered a couple of kills in the last one...cta and strike wins were nice...

all between 2-4 am AEST...(yawn)

If your so good playing with the beginners maybe you should up the ante and play with the big boys on sim. Then come back and post how good you are lol.

I see this becomes another oportunity to talk down arcade mode. Op makes an idiot out of himself and the forum siezes an opportunity to say how rubbish arcade mode is and how it's for beginers.
I may be following shadowcorp out of this forum soon

It wsnt a dig at arcade at all. The OP said he was playing against rookies etc (who sent him a few choice messages) indicating that they are beginners to the game. He's blowing his own trumpet at beating guys who have probably only just got the game. WOW, something to be proud of. All im saying is that if he thinks he's THAT good then come on to sim and see how he fares.

Simply because on sim you can all fly at the same speed, pull the same turns and have everythign pretty much on a level playing field. Sim gives him something extra to think about, such as stalls, spins, top speed, rate of climb, NO ICONS showing where everyone is, no other views except for cockpit.

All im saying is let him try that with a few of us and see if he's still calling himself amazing.

Take a chill pill. Chillax

I play all three modes..

Arcade is fun. It is not just point and shoot (although most on there think it is)
all the best dogfights are in Arcade mode.. (I'd prefer it if all of you "never play Arcade" types didn't start flaming me because if you haven't played arcade you can't comment!).

I also love the depth of Sim mode, but, most dogfights and team battles end about 10 feet off the ground. Now correct me if I'm wrong, in every account of WWII air combat that I've read (a lot) they all repeat the same mantra.. Altitude, Altitude, Altitude... If sim mode is sooo realistic why is everyone flying sooo bloody low? I'll tell you why.. because it's not realistic. There are loads of technical posts on here about turn radius and rate of climb and so on but it's all made totally irrelevant because everyone's hiding down near the ground. None of these planes were designed to fight at such a low level.

Like I said, I love the feel of sim mode and like playing it.

That said I'm looking forward to the tourney because I believe that it will actually be fought in the sky.

lmao, "Prince of stabilizers". Totaly agree. You should see how amazing I am at darts when standing 1 foot away from the board, I get like 140 or 180every time.

Seriously though, A lot of people with very fast broadband connections take it for granted. They forget that the people they are playing may have some degree of lag as they dont have a god like connection. The faster the game action, the more the lag makes the differece between a hit or miss. So arcade shows it up much more than realistic or sim.
15 kills and 1 death would not be posible in a arcade style uberfurball if every player had equal chance to hit another plane.
