Not at all dude, but realistic, IMO is just a halfway house between arcade and sim. If you can fly well in realistic, you're at least 75% of the way to being a great sim pilot.

What I love about sim over realistic is that real tactics can actually come into play. You can hit the deck, dive into a riverbed and lose your pursuer. Or you can use clouds for the same purpose. That's just not possible on realistic.

Also, you get control of your flaps, which is actually really useful.

The downside of sim is the hard to see planes, but again, hit the deck and they are easier to see against the sky. Also, your map is a lot more important to you in sim.

Getting used to the aviator control layout if you don't use a stick is also a massive bonus as well, as you need to be looking around almost constantly.

But I certainly don't think less of you because you don't play sim in any way shape or form. And I'm sure a lot of the other guys probably feel the same, although I obviously can't speak for them.

Now get your homework done and go practise target aquisition with you Mark I eyeball lol. Because that is the real make or break aspect of sim flying...
